When planning a trip with children, choosing a beautiful place is only the start. Then come the other questions: where will the little ones sleep, what will they eat, what will keep them busy, and will the adults have time to drink a cup of coffee in peace?

At Black Inn Dilijan, several families can stay in the same house, plan the day together and keep to the children’s usual routine. The entire house is rented exclusively to your group and accommodates up to 15 overnight guests.

Several Families Under One Roof

One of the joys of a holiday with other families is the time you spend together. The children can play together, while the adults chat, cook and take turns helping each other out.

At the same time, it matters to have separate rooms for sleeping and resting. Black Inn has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, making daily life with a large group easier to organise.

Five bedrooms have double beds, and the sixth has four single beds. When booking, we will discuss together how best to arrange everyone to suit your families and children.

A Heated Indoor Pool, Even in Cool Weather

With children, holiday plans often change with the weather. A day meant for a walk in Dilijan may turn rainy or simply be cooler than you expected.

Black Inn has an indoor heated pool, and we keep the water at around 28–30°C. You can make it part of your family break in autumn and winter too.

Use of the pool is included in the house rental price. Children should always swim under the constant supervision of an adult, so agree in advance who will be watching them at any given time.

Time to Play Outdoors

When the weather allows, the day can carry on outside. There is a children’s playground on the grounds, as well as table tennis and a sand volleyball court for family games.

There is no need to plan the whole day in detail. Sometimes children just need time to play together, and you just need to join in or sit nearby and chat.

A Kitchen Where You Can Cook Your Children’s Favourite Food

Food matters when travelling with little ones. One is used to porridge in the morning, another to lunch at a set time, and a third has no wish to try new dishes.

In Black Inn’s fully equipped kitchen you can cook your children’s usual food and fit mealtimes to your family.

You will find everything you need for cooking and serving, along with carefully chosen tableware. We also provide salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar, coffee and herbal tea.

Bring the groceries you like, your children’s food and any special items they need.

Fewer Household Chores

After a meal for several families, the pile of dishes grows quickly. The dishwasher in the kitchen helps you spend less time at the sink.

And the coffee machine lets you start the morning with your favourite coffee — perhaps while the children are still having breakfast and there is nowhere to rush off to.

We also provide towels, bathrobes and single-use personal care items, so you can pack fewer everyday things.

Little Ones’ Sleep, Thought Through in Advance

If you are coming with young children, let us know their ages and sleeping needs in advance.

We can provide two cots for children up to 4 years old. Mention that you need them when booking, so we can have them ready before you arrive.

The house has heating and cooling systems, so it stays comfortable in every season.

The Break Is for the Grown-Ups Too

Once the children’s meals, sleep and activities are sorted, it is easier to find time for yourselves as well.

At Black Inn you can enjoy the Russian banya and gather around the fireplace in the evening. The banya is included in the house rental price, and we provide firewood for the fireplace too.

What to Pack When Coming to Dilijan with Children

To make packing easier, include:

  • clothes for the weather and a change of clothes,
  • swimwear and non-slip slippers,
  • personal care items and any medicines you need,
  • your children’s favourite food and their own tableware if they use it,
  • a favourite bedtime toy or book,
  • one or two family or board games.

Towels, basic tableware and kitchenware are already here. And if a particular item matters to your family, simply check with us before you set off.

With children, the first day often goes on the journey, settling in and getting to know the new surroundings.

If you stay two nights, you get a whole day without the rush of arriving or leaving. You can have a relaxed breakfast, play, swim and fit the day to the children’s mood.
